Permaculture is a science utilizing an innovative approach to consciously design landscapes, human settlements and farming systems. The key is integrating diversity and fertility by mimicking the productivity of natural eco-systems. This science rests on the ethics of "earth care, people care, fair share". This lecture will provide an introduction to permaculture, with an emphasis on the often overlooked ethic of fair share. Brenton Kelly is a longtime steward at Quail Springs Permaculture in the Cuyama Valley, who will help us envision social and ecological systems that regenerate the health of this planet and all its residents.
